I will take some pics tomorrow and post them. Thing is, we did not touch the starter so I dont know what the problem might be. I know I am close to getting this thing back on the road hopefully with a proformance increase.

Ok, here are two pics. One is kinda clear and the other is blurry but shows the other two wires that are grounded here. If you want area specific pics let me know and I can post them but this is what I thought you wanted. You can see the ground strap that is connected to the body - head in both pics. This is the PS rear of the engine by the distributer right below the valve cover.

There should also be ground straps coming out of the wire harness that runs through there. On each side there will be a bundle of those wires that should be tied to the rear of each head. In the front you should have the large groundstrap going straight to the pass. side head and there will also be a small groundstrap off the battery that helps provide an additional ground for the chassis.

EDIT: red_jonny, I was going to get rid of those unused posts like you asked but Im having trouble loading the page. Might end up deleting posts by accident if I keep trying.

Check the main ground that goes from the battery to the front of the passengers side head. Drivers head if the battery is on the drivers side (firebirds).

I will check that tomorrow. That maybe it as I did have that size bolt left over when I was done putting it together. But do you think that would cause the ground to get that hot?

Well that was not it. Still getting really hot. I connected the ground from the battery to the head...had to add a few spacers but got the job done. Anyway, everything looks in order so I am not sure what is going on. I will check the starter and see what I can come up with.

Ok guys, I had my last chance to get this thing running. It turns over and if timed would start for sure but the whole ground thing is kicking my butt. My neighbor is going to try to fix it while I am deployed so hopefully all will be well when I get back. I leave tomorrow morning really early so I wont be on too much longer as I want to spend some time with my family. Thanks to all who have helped me out and when I find out what it was I will let you all know.

I think that the problem with the ground is comming from the starter. The only time that ground gets hot is when I start the engine. If I have the key to on its ok. I have a buddy at my house who will be working with this as I am in Iraq right now. This is just the first time I had a chance to reply about this subject. THX

Well its been awhile since I last updated you all on whats going on. Here is the new thing, I want a manual tranny so I am selling the camaro. Its still not running cause my neighbor never got on it. So now I have to take it to the shop on monday to get it fixed. I am still in Iraq so my wife has to get it towed to the shop. What needs fixed is: starter wireing, brake booster adapter to the intake, timing, adapter for the throttle cable, a few bolts to the headers, header gaskets (since I was missing a few bolts they did not all get put on) and there might be one or two other small things. It just sucks cause I could have done some of the work before it had to go to the shop! Nothing I can do now. Its most likely going to cost me about a grand to get all the work done on it, what do you guys think? Well thanks for all of your help. My biggest regret is that I did not get to drive it after these last few mods.

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if I could ask a huge favor from one of you guys who are into burning proms..... I am building a stock bottom end 350 but using a ZZ4 Cam and roller rockers with the stock TBI F.I. Set up, I know the Computer is gonna freak and don't want to give someone $300 to $400 dollars only to burn me(literally) for making a prom that will work half assed to begin with.
Has any of you guys burned a prom that works well with this setup or even better than stock? please let me know, I really don't want to invest in a lot of gear I am only going to use once and collect dust otherwise...... It would be worth it to me to have someone who has the experience and has dealt with this setup make me one (I'll pay you for it of course) but I can't see giving someone several hundred dollars when it's a gamble..... please let me know!

Well, your in the wrong thread for this question but I can kinda help. The equiptment you need is really not that expensive and once you got everything and know what your doing you will be able to burn a couple of chips for your car for differant conditions. For the price you would pay to have someone do it, you can have all the equiptment yourself! The only other thing you would need is a laptop. There is a section on this site strictly for PROM DIY. There they can answear your questions better than I.
