vafpr and fuel pressure guage...
I’m planning on doing the typical LT1 cam install with 305 TPI heads casting 081. I already have a 305 TPI fuel pump sitting in my garage in install with it and now I’m starting to look around on the board about vafpr. I plan on picking up this which seems to be the standard plus the new spring.

But I email Lon and was told to put in a fuel pressure gauge as well. This one has been recommended many times on the board.
Fuel Pressure Guage
As I look this all over it seems that that is going to show the pressure going to the regulator and not to the injectors. Technically, could the pressure going to the regulator be 30 psi but the regulator lower it down to about the 15 psi needed? Can someone explain this to me or what I’m misunderstanding. Any pictures appreciated. Thanks.

The regulator sets the pressure in the line between it and the pump. Basically, the pump pumps against the regulator spring enabling the spring to set line pressure. Downstream from the regulator is, essentially, no pressure.
Imagine turning on a garden hose. Now put your finger (a.k.a. regulator spring) over the end. You've just created pressure inside the hose at all points between your finger and the pump.
