ALDL & Tech insight from fellow members needed
What's up everyone!?
I need help troubleshooting a few pesky driveability problems. I have analyzed the WINALDL logs myself and have had a few "old school" mechanic friends of mine look them over as well, but we have not yet figured out what is wrong.
Would someone be kind enough to take a peek at this WINALDL datalog file and see if anything sticks out or seems odd? Any insight would be a BIG help. I hate to ask for help on this one but we are totally stumped because of lack of info.

I purchased and installed a custom chip in the car a long time before I started learning how to use a datalogger, so now I have no stock chip data or logs to compare with the new readings. I will keep the story short for now in hope that someone will read this log and notice the problem right away
I hope
. I will post more info in detail if its needed.
Thank you in advance!

What type of problems are you having, driveablity wise.
It seems to be reading very rich, and for what is basicly a stocker, the map values seem a hair high. You might check for vacume leaks.

Kinda looks like your IAC counts are a bit low at idle, most stock LO3's that I have looked like stay around 50-100 counts at idle. I'm with dewey looks kinda like a vacume leak, and your ecm has to really turn down your IAC to keep your engine idleing.

I dont know if this is the problem, but I noticed that the vacume line from the TBI to the Thermac unit on the air cleaner was making a high pitched squeal. I found out that the hose is a tiny bit bigger than the fitting on the TBI and was sucking enough air through to make the squeal. I cut the worn out section of the hose off and put it back on. It fits good enough to fix the sqeal, but is still loose. I am planning on replacing that hose with the right size, but is it possible that even though the squeal is gone it is still letting enough air leak past to affect IAC opperation?
One other question, can any of you guys recommend a good guide/manual that will discuss datalogging in more detail? I know the basics, but I am interested to find out how you more experienced members learned how to troubleshoot using the datalogs.

That could definetly be your problem. If it's loose it' probably still leaking. If that one vacume line is dry rotted then I bet you have more that you haven't found yet.
As for a good manual. Your best bet is to use the "search" feature till you go cross eyed.

I now have permanent brain damage from searching these forums for soo long. I was just wondering if most of the info could be found in a book or manual that I dont know of, or is searching these forums how everyone learns?

Most of the learning curve is in just doing it, and in burning the chips, we learn what the sensors should look like, and what they look like when things go wrong. We all started out by searching a ton (there is alot 'better' info out there now, when I first started, the info was not nearly as good as it is now.)
