looking at some heads, need opinions
There is a guy here in town that is selling a set of 350 heads. In the description it says that they came off of a built 350.
Says .190 intake valves .202 (then nothing but i guess exhaust?)
Anyhow, i dont know much about heads, he only wants 50 bucks for them. Does this sound like a deal?

Call him up and see what kind of shape they are in. Do not buy them no matter what he tells you. Instead, write down the casting number on the heads, go home, and post the numbers. Depending on what the casting numbers are, it may or not be worth buying. Sounds like the add was screwed up. Its supposed to read 2.02 intake 1.90 exhaust.
The casting number is the number in the center of the head underneath the valve cover.

naa, actually it is either 1.94 1.5 or 2.02 1.6 Biggest exhaust valve you can get in a stock small block head is the 1.6
Mortec.com is a good place to check out casting numbers. You need to take into acount machine work when ever you check out heads. If they need valve guides and the seats recut your going to be pushing the price of some of the cheaper performance heads out there that will give you 30-75 hp more than any stock head.
