'7747 replacement w/8192 baud ALDL?

Hey guys, posted this to the GMECM list but haven't gotten a response from them...

I have a '7747 in my truck running a 454 tbi setup right now. I really like it, except for one thing: the ALDL link is only 160 baud, and it is UNGODLY SLOW. Molasses slow. Having winALDL to datalog is helping me correct some problems, but only seeing an update every 2 seconds is killing me.

I'm curious what ECM's are more or less direct replacements for the '7747, my goal would be to just pull the 7747 and drop in a diferent ECM that has an 8192 baud data stream, but that failing, I can certainly do minor rewiring or repin my harness if it comes down to that. I just don't know much about the GM ecm's outside of the realm of the 7747, so what TBI ECM's are "close" and what vehicles can they be found in at the boneyards?

The 749 has been swapped into TBI applications. Its the computer from the sy/ty's and quad4's

You can also do the lockers thing, that will get you high speed aldl.

Or wait until the speed-reader comes out.

My 1992 van TBI ecm transmits data at a much quicker rate than the 747 ecm. I think it is a "299" with the 99 code in it but can't remember off the top of my head. I do know that in order to tune it I swapped to a 747 and it is SLOW compared to what the previous ECM transmitted at. I could not find an .ECU file for that ecm so therefore I could not tune it easily and the 747 was a direct swap, unplug the connectors and plug in the 747. I do know that, at school I hooked a Genisus to it and ran around with it right after my swap to TBI. I ran a WOT run and it recorded data every 2 mph or so.
