New Motor...
I have a 1991 RS with 66,000 miles, i am currently building a motor for it when the odometer hits the 100,000 mark, i just want to get an opinion on it:
GMPP ZZ4 Partial Engine
GMPP Aluminium Fast Burn Heads
GMPP Aluminium Vortec Carbed Intake Manifold w/EGR
LT4 Hotcam OR ZZ4 cam
GMPP Heavy Duty Rocker Arms
Holley 5.7 TBI
Edelbrock Tubular headers w/A.I.R.
All Smog Equipment intact
custom chip tune
perhaps a small wet shot of nitrous...?
what kind of power do you think this setup would yeild? anyone's opinion is welcome.

Probably about what a a ZZ4 would make, IF you can feed it enough fuel and get the tune right. Do a search for how much power TBI can support and start reading so you know what your getting into. That motor is going to take quite a bit of one on one tuning. (not mail order)

with that cam and heads, it is rated at 400hp 400lb of torque. know that the tune is going to be a tough one, but i doubt it will be any harder than tuning a built TPI system.

yeah...
i pretty much had the same set up....
355 tbi. vortec heads, vortec intake, etc....
the only thing here that really matters is 1) you absolutely need a cam that has more than 112 degress of lobe seperation angle or your computer thinks its at full throttle all the time because of low vacuum creating fuel to be sprayed like it was at wide open throttle...not good; and 2) there is not enough air/fuel able to feed that ZZ4 with a TBI simple because it demands so much....I did it and changed it....do what you would like but TBI was the technology foster child no one wanted after TPI and dragsters use carbs to this day because of ease in controlling the fuel where as computers have to have a chip changed anytime, any adjustment needs to be made at $300 or more a pop, and the cost of TPI is at $2,000 or more.
