305 cam confusion.
I was looking at the Tech Data section of the website, at the Camshaft Data table. It shows the following:
1988, 1989
305 AT
10088155* .350 .384 179 194 109.0 (108/-112)
305 5spd / 350 AT
10066049* .415 .430 207 213 117.0 (116/-118)
Is this the tpi specs?
I have an 88 305 LO3 5spd and everything I can find about the LO3 says that it has the small cam. But according to this chart I have the larger one.
I must say that my engine has a good sound to it for a stock engine. It certainely does not sound like a small cam and I have heard my share of engines. Mine sounds more performance oriented than economy.
I have owned the car for a year now and I have no idea what has been done to it. I suspect that it is stock because there is no evidence of anything being replaced. It was garage kept and hardly driven until I got it. It had the original spark plugs in it! I have changed them, of course.
