whats a good intake manifold for a 305 tbi? i all ready have a adaptor plate so i have alot of options

 

so no one buys aftermarket intakes huh?

 

A lot of people on here, like me, have found the Edelbrock Performer TBI intake to be an excellent direct bolt on that has all the stock fittings for EGR and everything. This intake has larger runners and is a little bit taller than stock. It gives it a lot more air in the mid to upper RPM range. Since you have an adapter, you can look at other Edelbrock intakes as well as Holley intakes. Just keep in mind most of those intakes will require some modification if you want to keep the car EGR and emissions legal.

 

i choose the holley projection TBI. no adapter plate. high rise dual plane. pleased with it.

 

I'm a fan of using a single plane, but you you will need to do some computer work, to get it to run right and up to its pontial.

 

so since i have a 1988 does that mean i have to get a intake that ses its for 1987 or higher?

 

yes and no.

and 87+ will bolt right up. but the early intakes can be modified so they fit, the only diffrence is the center 4 bolts, they sit at a diffrent angle, you can massage the bolt holes in an early intake, so that it will bolt to your heads.
