i cant be the only one.

ive done searchs and everything, and i never found anyone doing what i did. not finding anything kind of threw me off. now i dont know if ill get flamed or what. lol.

sooo..... this is what i did:

open element on my lo3's tbi... however i didnt buy a cleaner. i simply measured, cut, and painted the the stock base and top.

i would post pics, but i wouldnt know how... ive been told it looks good. sooo...

I am confused. Did you take your stock air cleaner base and hack off the sides, sandwich an air cleaner filter in between, paint the lid and put it back together? Unique but may not be worth the $20 that can net you an open element.

he`s not the only one,i`ve done it myself out of boredom.although i just cut up the lid to match the filter and left the sides alone .i`ll post a pic when my comp is back up and running

yeah lol. basically. and kentucky enginerring maybe, originally from oklahoma, but this place is gettin to me, lol. but i got the idea because i just bought 40$ stock k&n, then got the urge for the open element (stupid me). and me being cheap, i thought it would be cool to try it. and if my engineering skills crapped out in the process and i mess sumthin up, ill just do it the way in the tech article. i never heard of a 12" open element. lol. ill try to get sum pics up. may take a little while... but ill try.
