A question

Just when you've thought you've seen it all....I found this stuff at a wrecking yard today. It was on a 79 Cadillac 6.0 although it appears that this wasn't an option until 80. It has 2" bores but the injector pod was missing. My question is, if anyone might know, is the throttle shaft from a LO3/LO5 interchangeable with a 454 TBI? The linkage lever is different so its not usable as is. Yes, I'm assuming this is the same as a 454 2" bore TBI.

If someone told me that Gm made an adapter for a TBI to Quadrajet I'd have said "Codswallop!"

My 454 tbi came with the same adapter and provision for vacuum line to the brake booster. I couldn't use it since it would not line up with the Edelbrock’s air gap manifold. The throttle shaft from a 305 will work (I’ve done it) but you will need to cut some material off the shaft to make the 2" throttle blade to fit and the holes on the shaft barely lines up with the holes on the throttle blades.

Wow, that's pretty interesting. Good find!

The IAC valve looks a little different that the usual kind you see on TBIs, I noticed. Do you have a better picture of it? Just curious.

I'm building a 400sbc and thought I'd tbi it. Then I started reading this forum and began to have second thoughts. (maybe over my head) so a carb is looking good but with this stuff I can go Qjet intake and work things out and go back to carb if I have to. Anyway I have an lo5 tbi and ecm but I really don't much about them. If you see anything that may be a problem from these pics feel free to point it out. thanks
