vac and rough idle issue

In short... I changed the intake gasket this weekend. All went well except for the car is running really rough. I made sure that the dist went in exactly as it came out. I have found that one of the vac lines has nowhere to go now. Does anyone have a diagram or can tell me what page I can find it in the chilton manual? Would vac and/or timing make it run really rough? I noticed today that I had done the timing wrong...I'll fix that after work. (about 6deg right)

Thanks

Here is a pic of the vac hose... anyone know where it needs to go?

Did you set the timing after you fired up the car?

Yes, but I noticed today that I set it wrong. I set it to the -4deg instead of +6deg... I didn't have much light when i was doing that last night.

Stock timing is 0*.

That broken vacuum line is for the HVAC and cruise control vacuum reserve. The stock vacuum line that should attach to that runs from the back of the distributor, up the driver's side firewall, truns after the brake booster, then runs down right next to the driver's side fender, and attaches to a vacuuum t-fitting (that connects to the cruise control servo and vacuum reserve canister under the car) and ends right next to the charcoal canister. Trace the vacuum line from the t-fitting and work your way up.

Thank you! I was able to conect that hose. As for the timing, I set it after work (before I read your response) to 6* and it was stalling and pinging all the way home. I'll have another crack at it tomorrow, and will check posts often for more info you guys may have.

Thanks again
