Is anyone running >stock roller rockers on an LT1 cam? I was thinking about sticking some 1.6's in my car. Self Aligning right?

 

Lots of people run roller rockers on their motors. 1.6 rockers puts you awful close to the limits of the stock valve guides with the LT1 cam though. You can get roller tipped rockers for under $100. Full bodied rollers are expensive and are tough to justify on an LO3.

 

the top vavle lift with 1.5 rockers on a 94 LT1 cam, such as i have is .460" and thats pertty much cutting it close but if you where to put on your 1.6's like you where talking at your sitting at .491" lift....

Unless you are running the LT4 springs and retainers. You should still have around .020" clearance with between the LT4 retainer and the guide. Atleast my 193s did. The current 081s have the same setup and I am running 1.6 rockers on them. It is only an early 80s spec 305 HO cam though and only give .441" of lift on the exhaust side with the 1.6:1 rocker.

 

Is anyone actually running this combo though? I'll probably try and score them off E-bay or a swap meet and I'm in no big hurry so cost isn't a huge concern
