Use a 3/32" to 1/8" thick piece of steel, or 3/16" hard aluminum plate. Cut it in the shape of the casting where the FP can mounts to the TB. Can use the can as a template. Drill the four holes for mounting it. If steel paint it.

Use the original diaphragm (if in good condition) and cut the center out, leaving about a 1/4" wide perimeter. Bolt the plate onto the TB with the diaphragm as a gasket.

Use a bypass style regulator close to the TB on the return line. Several advantages to this setup: can use a monster size fuel pump and still have the regulator bypass the fuel at low loads. Easier access to adjust the fuel pressure. A good bypass regulator will hold a more consistent FP then the OEM one.
