some advise needed?
i'm a bit stumped on what to do to my engine.
i bought an 89 trans am with k&n open element, edelbrock manifold, bored TB,flowtech headers, flowmasters exhuast, 3.73 gears,t-56 6-speed. the car pulls nicely but after a couple of racing with lt1's and some 5.0 I want to go faster i've been doing laot of research for the tbi now money is very tight so i'm mostly looking towards cheap upgrades like lt1 cam,416 heads,454 tbi setup. now should i stay on track with those upgrades or is there other options like going carb? my budget is about 500 not looking to be a 11's just 13's or low 14's.

a good tuning can get you a decent amount of power. You can buy everything you need for $300 or so. after that, I would dump money into a 305, just save your pennies and get a crate 350

Welcome aboard!
Your cvar already has a great platfrom with the T56 and 3.73 gears. $500 can feasably net you an LT1 cam swap and chip tuning stuff. $500 doesn;t take you very far unless you buy nitrous. An LT1 cam swap with the proper tuning can yeild a solid 20+ hp increase.
