ok, I guess you tbi guys like the 081 heads, well I would like to keep this technical so I will offer this....... anyone in northen il or souther WI wants a set of 081 heads with the larger valves already in them can pick them up for free. but, the catch is #1 you need to get them right away! like tonight or tomarrow as they are going to go with the scrap guys
#2 catch is this has tobe techical so I would guess you should post if they fit a 305 and what hp others can gain by cutting there 081 heads for 194 valves



let me know if you want them. but, don't forget they are just a day away from getting hauled away

 

well here u go guys i saw this in the fs forum hes givin them away and i got him to let u guys know since this is such a popular mod and they already have been cut and had 1.94 valves put in cant get any better than that...so go and get them please dont let these babys go to waste they would be great even if a rebuild is needed they r free and not much is anymore

 

i know its been 2 months but what happened to those heads?!! Please say they didnt get scraped?!!

 

yup i talked to him through out just to see he waited over a week and sent them to the scrap guys....sucks dont it

 

gosh... i would have driven to WI as long as it wasnt way up in the land of cheese. Too bad it was posted on the TBI board, other wise i would have seen it. I too am very interested to see how a TBI car would perform compaired to TPI if it got the TPI cam and heads. I think we all know that TPI is better, but the huge gap in performance between the two has more to do w/ those heads and the crappy cam. nice theory anyways.

 

The difference is in the cam, intake, induction and not the heads. Swirl port heads actually flow more on the exhaust side than TPI heads. They flow less on the intake but not by a considerable amount. TPI heads tend to flow more all around when fully ported.
