The GM Vacuum Fuel Pressure Regulator ... hmmm ... ok I'm REALLY curious ... how is it even designed ? I mean I believe one can buy a regular adjustable one from GM ? But at the same time you can do it yourself
What did they do to the VAFPR ? Weld/braze a tiny tube .. and attach a vacuum line ? Is this something a machine shop (figured maybe one of my buddies could do it *lol*) or someone handy can do themselves ?
Yes I've searched.. I've read about them ... but like I said.. I'm really curious about how they're designed.

From what I understand it was originally used for marine applications.

There is a tiny tube that comes out of it. You then run a vaccum line to a source on the TBI unit. I used the one that controls the thermac. Do you need pictures?

This it a link to the Instruction Sheet I include with the special spring I sell for the VaFPR. It will answer your question regarding the source for the vacuum line.

marine applications is what i heard. keep in mind marine power is somewhat linear. the tune has to be so much easier to develop. no shifting(in my rig anyway). not much on off on throttle. i suspect it (vafpr) was an attempt to use TBI on a larger CID(over 350 cid).

GM includes the VAFPR with their HT502 crate engine. It allows them to make some good power out of the older 454 TBI setup.
