I bought a dual snorkel air cleaner and removed the sensors...i didn't really need them...if you decided to go with an open element, them you would't have any sensor there anyhow, so you really don't need them with the dual snorkel...also, you might look on ebay for one, the ones that are in nice condition usually run around $120.00-$150.00

The 2-wire sensor in the base of a stock TBI air cleaner is the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor. Don't just unplug it. ECM needs that information to help run the engine properly. Reinstall it in whatever dual-snorkel you buy (It's a pretty simple drilling operation). If using an open element at least put the sensor somewhere near the filter element so it car read the temp of the air going into the air filter.

Welcome to TGO!! If you use the function (located at the top right) you will find a gazillion posts about the dual snorkel air cleaner. I'm so confident you will find it, I'm going to close this thread to cut down on redundant posts...
