305 or 350

ok well im looking to make a stang killer here. As you can tell i got the ****ty *** 305. I just want enough power to own stangs and SHO's mainly and keep up with the LT1's. So if i kept the 305 how about doing this would i? and if i swapped in a 350 from a caprice then how? which would be cheaper? thanks a bunch
and i dont want crap like the usual port ur crap *** heads i get that i want to know like cam computer etc etc

Well if you if you want to "own" them start saving your pennies....aww man my age is showing.

To keep up with lt1's you need to run bottom 14's. It's been proven that you can run a 14.5 with an intake, full exhaust, and cam and gears. A $1000 dollar set of heads would get you the rest of the way there. It would probably be cheaper to get a decent running 350 and do the intake, exhaust and cam shuffle with it. I was able to run high 13's with the combo in my sig. If you ever plan to go fater, it would be wise to do the 350 swap now and build on it. If you want to save money just add parts to your 305, but make sure they will work with the 350 when you make the swap later.

This is the most important mod with TBI and FI in general. You need to be able to tune the ECM. Mail order isn't going to cut it. You need to start reading up on the DIY prom board and learn to do it yourself, cheap. (less than $150) Or find some one local to do it and be prepared to spend big bucks (over $500) to get it tuned, and if you ever change anything be prepared to pay that price again to get it tuned again. The key to power with TBI is in the ECM.
