It's the Holley Hi-Tek air assembly. I'm wondering about the fitment isses on the passenger side with all the hoses and stuff.

Looks like a gimmick. Since the TBI gets air from all around the intake, it would seem to me that this assembly would restrict you to only getting ari from the sides as opposed to 360* all aorund.

Then again, what do I know?

Clearance might be a big issue. You need something like 3"+ above the tbi to allow the pod and injectors to clear.

doesn't sound as if it will but, then again what do i know.

If that's what you wanted i'd buy it in a heartbeat. You could always make a spacer or something later if it didn't.

I don't see how that will improve airflow. It looks as though most of the air would just pass through the filters and only very little would go down the neck. You would have to have that sucker on there tight in order to have a vacuum effect when the throttle opens.

Hell, it might even require a chip tune to adjust for the new enrichness?

I don't think the performance would be any different than an open element. I just like the look.

Measure the hight of the pod and see if you can find some dimensions for the inside. The pod clearance is probably the most critical thing since it sits higher then a carb. The other thing to beware of is the fact that the cleaners themselves also have to clear the engine.

Its also neat, but one drawback is that it pulls air right off the headers, which in a hot climate may not be the best thing. TBI likes to have some heat, but that may be too much.

In the profile shot you could probably scale the hight off by using the opening for the carb as a reference point. IIRC its like 5.25" so that would give you a reference to determine the hight.

Looks like its ~3.3" at the highest point. Might be a tight squeeze if it fits.

Bill, my old roommate Justin is running one of those on his carbed car, I'm sure he'd let you borrow it for a while.
