TBI to TPI

Has anyone ever swaped their TBI system to a TPI set up. I want to what parts would i need and how hard the task would be. I will be pulling my engine this winter to rebuild along with the rest ot the car. I have a 1992 Camaro RS 305 TBI 25th Anniversay Heritage Edition. Red with blacks heritage stripes.

Welcome to TGO!

Yes, it has been done many, many times and is a pretty common swap. There is a pretty good tech article on this on the main page, check it out first:
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/tbitotpi.shtml

After that, try a few searches. All the info that you will need should be in past posts from people that have done this before. It's a common swap, so you should have no trouble finding out what all you need. If you still can't find answers, then post questions. The TPI board might be a better board to post in though, considering most of the guys here are sticking with TBI.

They are not saying you can't do it, but simply WHY? The TBI is not a restriction on a stock engine! Why spend more to get the same. Headers, Full Exhaust, Cam, Heads, and Chip work are the keys to power on your TBI engine. All of which are not going to be changed with TPI.

TBI is great, but for a 383 you'll have better luck with a TPI harness and ecm, just get a better intake.... "just MO"

with a big cubic inch motor, I would not go with TPI, Something like a Stealth Ram would be better. (unless this is going in a truck, in which case TPI woudl be great, as the long restrictive runners are great for low-mid RPM torque.
