Considering buying this 91 TBI..

Can you guys see anything out of the ordinary with the pictures below? I am considering buying this car, thanks in advance!

AC components missing? Should'nt there be a plastic filler panel between the radiator and the nose?

You are missing that plastic shroud and that should be the first thing that you fix. That is necessary for proper cooling to occur. The AC compressor looks to be an older style but should work fine provided that it is hooked up right and the system is charged. Other than that the pic doesn't show much. How does the car run? How many miles are on it?

The car has nearly 50K on it, it is pretty rough around the edges (dents, dings, paint oxidation, valence scuffs, etc.) and would definately benefit from some paint and general TLC.

My concern about the filler panel is I don't understand why someone would have removed it unless the car was hit and there was some work done. The seller has told me he is'nt positive the car was never in an accident but for sure neither he or the second owner were.

It also has some orange paint peeking out between the front clip and fender, on both sides. Could that be a sign the car had some work done on the front or is that original factory paint or something else?

The hood also did not line up 100% so I pointed it out and suggested he adjust the rubber stoppers, it's better now but still slightly off.

Are these all common problems?

The hood problem is very common. So is adjusting the back hatch you might want to look into that.

But from the looks of it, it's gun-metal grey, so it MUST be an awesome car!! How much does the owner want?

50k is good milegae but I would say that the car has been hit in the front. If there is visable paint or different color comming through than you can assume that they put a new nose on that car. They would remove that plastic radiator shroud to do so. They didn't put it back on. Now this may not mean much. It is very easy to crack the nose and most 3rd gen camaros that you see have this flaw. Chances are one of the previous owners changed the nose. Did you do a carfax? Have the car inspected. How much are they asking? Does the car go stright down the road?

i wouldnt worry about the ac or plastic cover rust should be the worry

i removed the filler panel as my car stays cooler without it
i have 2 spare ones if you want one
its a pointless peice of plastic that looks ugly

how much was it as that looks from the 2 pics of the body looks like a very nice car

rust is what kills these cars an engine can be swaped but rust destroys the body

The lower air dam directs air up into the front of the car and that peice of plastic directs it into the radiator. It is not pointless and many people overheat if it is removed.

I removed my air dam when I lived in cali. It worked fine there, but now up here in the mountains it overheats going up big hills. Wish I would have kept it. Now I need a new one.

Took some time to figure that out.
