Transmission: 350 lock up shorttail
general tbi
are the heads on a 350 tbi different from the heads on a older 350 chevy and can i use older heads on a tbi 350.

Switching from TBI heads to anything else will require more fuel and more timing.
TBI heads like 28-30* of total advance and others are typically 34-36*. That means bump the distributer timing up to around 4-6* BTDC.
I would recomeend getting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well. The fuel curve will not be linear so you will have to sacrifice low rpm vs high rpm fueling. It is fun to achieve the balance and even then it is a comprimise.
That brings me to my next point, the above are temporary band-aids to DIY chip burning.
I KNOW we have many places in the area to source a good set of swirl ports, why change.
