Hi everyone, I am the proud owner of a 91 305 TBI 5 speed Firebird .It is bone stock right now. I would like to get my bird down to mid 12's in the 1/4 mile. I don't know that much about michanical stuff yet but I am learning quickly ! I bought a Hanes manuel and a 350 piece mechanics tool set. I can't wait to get started . The only problem is I don't know where to start. Would you guys mide giving me some advice on what to do to obtain my goal

I'd start with reading the stickys at the top then decide if you are going to stay 305 and TBI. There are a lot of beginners mods you can do that will help you with whatever engine you get, headers/exhaust being a good example.

Definately Exhaust!!! and like TierAngst said, this will even benefit if you decide not to stay 305tbi. the stickies are good, theres some small, easy things that would let you get used to your car and wrenchin too. but from the little i know, your gonna need some serious mods and weight-reduction to see 12's with the 305tbi. maybe not though, since your 5speed. someone will let you know what ya need... good luck.
