i have an 89 rs with a 305, i want to get a better intake n do a bigger throttle body and what not but i cant find an intake manifold i can do that with that will fit my engine. i found an edelbrock one but it says not to use anything besides the stock throttle body. any of you guys done this or know of an intake and throttle body combo i can use in my car?

If you do some searching on this board you'll see that using carbureted intakes are the hot ticket. You just need an adapter plate to put your throttle body on the carb intake. The only problem with this is that you'll more than likely have to do some finangling to get the throttle linkage to all line up and work correctly.
If you haven't done it already, do a full exhaust first. You'll only see a 10-20 hp gain on the intake side of things, plus adding a big throttle body without ecm tuning usually does more harm than good.
You can expect around 20-30 hp and the same amount of torque from headers and a catback.
