Vacuum leak

I took my car to my friends shop to get the brakes fixed because they were a little slow so i figured i would give them some work.. and they told me i have a vacuum leak because the hose to my breather fell off.. since the hose barely fits on i boiled it and stretched it out a little for a tight fit.. does this solve the vaccum leak?

I have an edelbrock breather

try getting a new grommet for the breather, i dont think theyre too expensive. thats if the breather is the problem at all, it could be something else.

id try putting the stock one back on and checking for a vacum leak, if it goes away, youve found your problem.
