manifold selection

Hi guys i'm wondering what the best manifold will be that will fit under a stock camaro rs hood. What i need is best flow for streetable power, idle to about 6k, i'll be making about 300hp or a little more with the combo i'm putting together. I will be sticking to tbi with big block or holley tb and i'll be running an open element (how short just depends on what intake i get i suppose).

I know pretty much the hottest manifold out their at this point in time is the performer air gap and air gap rpm series but, i'll bet they are real tall. Question is are they too tall to fit with say a drop base aircleaner with a 1 and a half inch air filter heighth? I also heard of rumors of tb freeze over with these sorta manifolds whats that all about?

If the answer is yes then would a performer rpm probably be my best choice?

Sorry i know these sorta questions have been made numerous times but, help is appreciated.

The air gap manifolds are great, but they don't work well with TBI and of course wouldn't fit under your hood. I'd say your best bet would be to go with a weiand stealth manifold. WND-8016 it does have to be modified to fit the newer style heads, but if you don't want to deal with that you could always go with a WND-8024 (summitracing PN's)

thanks that's probably what i'll go with. Although i may try the edelbrock rpm it's a throw up between the weiand stealth and edelbrock performer rpm.

I run the Holley 300-66, I like it, supports good power.

I have a rpm air gap and I have had no problems with it at all and it about the same size as the stock intake its not tall at all and its a great intake.

holley projection for tbi? uses a large 7.4 L or 2.00 inch bore TBI and runs to 6500 rpms? dual plane. linkage needed a adjustable unit but was a breeze. loks great too !

And that intake fit underneath a stock 1992 camaro rs hood with an open element aircleaner?

i believe the height of all Edelbrock and Holley and any other intakes are available on their web site. all you need to know is the stocker and current available room.
