GOIGN FROM 305TBI-350CARB'D IN A 91 GAUGES? SNESORS?

im planing on switching out my 305tbi to a 350 carbed. its a 91 camaro so it has the newer style gauge cluster. i want all my gauges to work liek they do now.just with the bigger engine. would it be easier to just find a cheap camaro around with a bad carbed engine or is it easy enough to do it on mine? any input would be appreciated thanx

you will need to get a mechanical speedo becouse the 90-92 use the VSS signal to the ecm and i belive the tac needs to be changed to i cant remember right off hand id have to look it up

The wiring to run the electronic speedo, should not be tied into the TBI harness. I believe it will run in with the main harness. You will need to investigate many of the ways to accomplish TCC lockup though, or you risk melting down yoru 700r4. The speedo will work without the ECM being there, as long as the speed sensor is in the tailshaft and the DRAC is still present.

For the other gauges, just re-use your existing sending units for the Temp/Oil pressure gauges. The wiring will go into the main harness, not the TBI harness. It will be much simpler to seperate out the TBI harness from the engine harness, and then eliminate what is needed. Don't cut everything, then try to go back.

Why not keep the TBI setup and put it onto the carb engine with a carb-TBI adapter. See the picture below.
