Off idle response, check it out!
Hi, My TBI is acting weird.
Off idle, I used to be able to tap the pedal and the car would spring right up. Now, I tap the pedal the car sounds like its struggling for a sec and than, once I am off the pedal, she comes back up. Its like she is lugging and not getting that first response.
I tap the pedal and it sounds (to me) like the torque converter is holding it back for a second, then once I get off the pedal she corrects herself.
Also, burnouts are still a problem. With powerbraking and pedal to the floor she stays at 1000 rpms. Once I let off the gas she struggles to keep idle and eventually, unless she dies, she gets back up to normal idle. I wonder if this is the TC or I don't know what. Also sounds like a rich condition, but why? I have the stock FPR (which was replaced with another stock one when I re-built the TBI).
One thing I know is that I have a cracked flywheel/flexplate. ITs getting replaced this weekend, but do you think this would be giving me these problems.
Other than that, I have the car tuned up (tuned it up again because of the sluggishness) and I replaced my battery cables with new ones.
Please, any suggestions will be appreciated.
