What is the best manifold for a Tbi car with mild mods?

You're best bet would be the button, you'll get quite a few different perspectives from many...

With mild mods I'd go with an aftermarket dual-plane design. Some people get single-planes to work well with TBI, but your typical aftermarket dual-plane will flow well to 6000 RPM on a 305 (remember the idle-5500 RPM range they advertise is for a 350). The dual-plane will keep nice low-end torque and throttle repsonse and also allow your car to breathe well up to the safe operating limits of your crankshaft, main bearing caps, etc, so I don't see a reason to go with anything else for your application. Also, your heads will have small cross-sectional runners, so a single-plane manifold would be a little mismatched. Single-planes seem to work better at low-RPM with TBI than with carbs, but it's simply a case of necessity and application here ...you don't need a single-plane for your application and a dual-plane would be more appropriate for what you're trying to achieve.

Mildly modded L03 ==> dual-plane manifold.

you could also get a carb intake and then get the tbi adapter. you would have a lot more choices to choose from, and some are cheaper then buying a tbi intake.

I did the open element and something similar to "Ultimate TBI" mods a few years ago. I had no other mods at the time. I did notice a distinct improvement in the car's ability to pick up the RPM. The difference wasn't earth-shattering or anything, but I do remember that the car felt distinctly less restricted as the RPM climbed.

Incidently, even that "small" change threw the PROM off a little. It wasn't severe or anything, but I did "massage" the VE table gently to get the numbers back on. I could have gotten by without doing that, but it just shows you how sensitive the ECM is.

If you change the intake manifold and do the Ultimate TBI mods I think you'll definitely notice that the car "breathes" better as the RPM climb (but will still be restricted if you have the stock exhaust). It's a good place to start learning to tune the PROM because the tables will be off a little, but not too much, and it should be easy to get things "on" again.
