Well I thought I had the problems solved my 88 355 zz4, 305 heads, NO Cat, NO EGR, NO smog pump, slp headers with 305 injectors. After the car gets warm it wants to die at a stop when warm, I got a code 12 which I heard was normal? The car was burning a little coolant to which I replaced the head gaskets, intake gaskets, new plugs (had to replace to shorties) and had a bent pushrod in number 2 exhuast. Seams like its running rich but fuel pressure is at 13-15 psi (fuel gauge bounces a little since the fluid drained out)
THis happend basically one morning on the way to work it ran 100% fine then just wants to die out
On the way home I had some backfiring got hot (the fans dont turn on) but with the heat blasting made it home alright. I didnt replace the cap yet or coil the rotor is new since I had one laying around. Any ideas? I sold the car to a kid that wants to drive it back to Iowa from Illinois (hour west of chicago) when he gets out of boot camp, I dont want it to leave him on the road since I drove the car back from rochester new york almost a year ago, and got about 25mpgs highway without a hitch. He's a nice kid that wants to restore the car for his older brother that had an 88 formula before he died. So I want this car to be as good as I can make it before he leaves.
I hope I have some time to mess with it tomorrow make sure no other codes come up, its leaking some oil but should not be linked to this problem. The rpms bounce about 400 rpms before it dies from around 900 down to 500 rpms, the speedo also bounce's crazy after I replaced the gaskets it was pegged at 120mph when I was in second gear around 25ish.

well messed around with it again and still idels fine but when it gets to around 180 degrees wants to die out, I have a 160 stat in the car already. The fans still dont kick one went past 230 when I killed it by letting my foot off the gas. But it should still run with out the fans as long as it doesnt overheat. I adjusted the tps but its was only a little off, I have no idea whats going on there seams to be no vacuum leaks and im getting no codes, could it be a bad O2 even then the trouble light would come on.
