why is it chugging!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!
my 89 TBI is chugging and missfiring when i start it up for the first 5 minutes maybe 10 minutes but it keeps getting worse, after it runs awhile it will be fine i dont know what the problem is...its has a little over a 100K someone please help me get this fixed!! thanks!

Sounds like the O2 may be whats keeping it running acceptably when it warms up. Could be alot of things. Faulty fuel pump, CTS, MAP... Id take a look at the fuel pump pressure and CTS first. Those are the most likely.

can you please tell me what the CTS and MAP are....the car keeps getting worse and worse was gonna go to town with it today started it and it did its normal chugging and missfiring kept it at 2000RPM constant and it would fluctuate about 200-300 rpm i messed with it for about 10 minutes and said screw it, it really pisses me off and i dont know what to do

Sounds like you are dealing with something similar to Bruce's problem. Fuel issue, check your injector spray pattern, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter and run some injector cleaner after changing it. Still doing it... check fuel pressure... hook up a diagnostics tool.

the fuel filter is brand new and i put injector cleaner and it didnt do any good at all i tried that when it first started doing it

check the voltage on your TPS (throttle posistion sensor) with a voltmeter or digital multimeter.
i think the *magic* voltage is 5.55
Also, pick up a Haynes and/or Chilton's manual from your local auto store. they may be able to help you with your problem as well.
