It's ALIVE!!!! drove the blazer today
If you call that driving... I decided to drive her up and down the mini storage unit and I was fully pleased how it did at first because until then it had only been blindly tuned sitting in the unit without moving to get it run good enough to move under its own power. It moved good for about 25 seconds with decent tq for a poor tune and sounded and felt good... then it would stutter and I would give it a little more throttle until it got its legs under it.
Then I gave her a quick 1/4 throttle stab and it sounded like the thing was coming apart. Almost sounded like a backfire(strait headers on it for now) with a little drivetrain bind. But this is expected seeings as my tranny mount bolts aren't tight enough as well as my motor mounts. I know whats coming next...."why are you driving it like that your going to kill something" the answer is I needed to fill her up with water so I had to drive to the end of the storage block. I've talked to a master mechanic about running it without water and he said it would have to run at least 10 min before anything would be in the realm of getting damaged. I think it may have been low on gas too. I know this is sad to those of you that have been tuning for a while but for me its a huge milestone... its been 3 years since this thing has moved on its own and now I am a few bolts and fittings from actually driving this thing on the road and tuning the bugs out of it. I am stoked. next step is finish welding my exhaust, tighten tranny and motor mounts, and get my 12v working. I got my aldl cable a while ago and tried it today and it turns out my 12v is dead. Got no data out of my 1 1/2 minute drive.
