Idle Problems
I need some help. I have an 89 RS that had a 305 TBI. I put in a rebuilt 350. I kept the TBI. Everything was ok aside form low idle. Now after driving for a few weeks it ran very poorly at start up. It had a bog when I gave it gas. As it warmed up it got better but then the performance fell on its face and the service engine light came on. I pulled codes and it showed 22(TPS too low) 42(EST problem) and 43(ESC Module or sensor circuit problem). I put in a brand new MSD distributor when I put the motor in. Everything else is stock. My questions are:
Can I adjust the idle?
Is the difference from a 305 to 350 affecting anything?
And any idea as to what the problem may be?
I did all the work myself but I am not too good at diagnostic and computer problems. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Whip

Welcome aboard!
All of your problems can be solved with chip work. Your new set-up is way out of tune and the stock parameters in the chip cannot run your new combo. Your best bet is to research, here on TGO, how to burn your own chips. Without chip work any serious mods that stray away from the stock 305 TBI will result in a combo that is slower than the stock set-up. Luckily for you, you have come to the right place
