Welcome aboard!
Why do you want to replace your engine? More power? Is it worn out?
Before you swap engines you should write down what you want out of the car.
Fuel mileage, power, use of vehicle, mileage, and budget should all be considered. Defining what you want out of your motor will help us and you determine what is a good fit to match your goals. You may find that your current motor can do exactly what your intended goals are.
Are you sure it is carb? A stock 1990 RS V8 car was equipped with TBI which, although looks like a carb, is actually fuel injection.

I believe you are correct. It is a 90 rs TBI. the stock engine is starting to get high milage and i am also looking for more power but since it is an everyday driver i do need good gas milage. I do have a low budget and I am trying to keep myself money.

How many miles are you approaching on? It is very common for TBI motors to see 200K+ miles and run fine. As a low power, low RPM, and simplistic parts motor they tend to last for a very long time. If you want to add some more power a few simple things such as intake and exhaust mods can add a quick 25+ hp. Check out the "new to TBI" sticky located at the top of the forum for more details on modification specifics.

One thing I have done since it's high milage and a daily driver is rpm limit it to 5k.
