My NEW ram air!!!

I made a box for my 14X3 air filter. Then got some 3" tubing. I removed my high beams and ran the tubing from each side of the box to where the headlights are.

Overall, it is fully functional. My car actually doesn't look that bad either with no high beams. Under the hood it looks very nice.

14X3 open element, 3.73 gears, posi, dual 2 inch bendable exhaust, no mufflers or cats (kinda loud), 160 thermostat, relocated IAT, weight loss, lots-o-free mods and one hell of a crazy driver.

That's pretty cool. Any plans on getting pictures? Maybe make/submit a tech article about it. It'd make a great little addition to thirdgen.

You guys will not believe what I used for a box. I used the actual cardboard box that my 14 X 3 Puralator air filter came in. I painted it silver. Laugh if you like, but it works and it's cheap.

Whatever works.

I've been considering making my own rip-off RamAirBox using fiberglass. However I don't know jack about fiberglass working and can't find any sites with info on free hand molding fiberglass. Once I get the right info you'll see a clone on my car and if the price on material is not too high I just might make a few to sell.

That sounds like a good idea. I wonder how much power it adds? How long did it take you from start to finish?
