HELP! I put my intake manifold back on and I have a nut left over!

I removed the manifold because of a leak. I put it back on and I have a nut left over! I think it came off one of the manifold bolts (there are two candidates that have stud heads) but I don't have any parts that aren't attached???

Could one of you guys open your hood, and look at the intake manifold bolts and see what (if anything) is attached to the ones with stud heads?

Car: Turbo Buick
Engine: 3.8 V6
that just means your car is lighter now

if its a nut id say it came off one of the studs.. car runs right? if so.. probably not important

I wouldn't worry too much. But check the drivers side real close. There is the throttle cable bracket, coil, brake booster vacuum pipe, fuel line(s) hold down, etc. Also, the passenger side has an EGR braket, not for the egr itself but the electronics. I can't remember if that used a stud/nut or just sat under the regular manifold bolt. Hope this helps!!

Got all that...

Throttle cable bracket bolts under one manifold bolt, and uses one of the two coil bolts. Coil is held on by two bolts.

Brake booster vacuum pipe acts as the fuel line hold down, it is held on by a nut to a manifold bolt/stud, but that nut is already in place.

EGR valve is held on by two nuts, but they're in place. EGR bracket goes under two manifold bolts. EGR solenoid is held to the bracket by a screw.

The only thing I can think of is this nut wasn't holding anything down, but I think I would have remembered removing it if that were the case!

How about the AC bracket/brace at the front of the intake? That has a nut.

Yup Scott, got that one. In fact I think that nut is bigger than the left-over one (this is the same size as the two for the EGR and the one for the vacuum tube for the brake booster).
