fuel pressure?
fuel pressure?
I had an idea(to get my car running good for now)...tell me if this would work,I dont know much about fuel pressure.Get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set it at like 60 or something(what do you guys recommend for the stock tbi injectors on a monster engine, I think I have heard of guys doing this).and then I got this guy that can get me like a stage one or maybe stage 2 chip for free.If you dont know already my car isnt running to well because I didnt have time or money to finish it right so I had to throw on the stock tbi!
so I need it to run kind of fast for now until I can do it right.if this works how much of the engines 350+ horse potential you think I can get by just doing this?fuel pressure increase and a mild chip.

Chevy 355 cid chevy orange and lots of chrome
Vortec heads ported polished and milled also the exhaust ports are ported.
Edelbrock #7116 performer RPM intake also ported to match heads.
Keith black 12cc 9-6-1 compression flat top pistons.
Comp cams extreme energy #262 roller cam.
Pro jection 1 inch tbi adapter.
14 x 2 open air element (couldnt close hood)
Accel 8mm superstock wires.

Your stock fuel pump will never get you 60 psi. TBI injectors are designed to be used at around 14 psi, assuming they don't blow out any seals or o-rings, I don't think running 4 times the normal pressure will help very much...

Andy, Pablos forced 30psi out of his stock injectors. GM injectors respond real well to higher psi levels, in fact better then lower psi on bigger injectors. This is due to the wider arc in spray. However running higher levels of fuel pressure leads to premature fuel pump failure. On another note Holley injectors don't like to see above 17psi as they'll sputter and/or shut off all together past that. Sometimes OEM is best.
EDIT: opps didn't read the whole post twice. (pulls head out *** )
92RS if you want to run tons of pressure upgrade to a TPI fuel pump. It should wire right in. The CFI Vette owners can upgrade to TPI pumps we should be able too...

just looked at my factory fuel pressure reg, the notch was already about 3/16 down from top so i adjusted it to full, put it back together after taking out injectors and cleaning the whole damn thing, now i got fuel leaking out the top of the right injector, is the presure to high, or will i be able to reseal it with a new o ring? 14 psi, thats nothin. o rings handle more than that all day long in an ac system. then again, they are mutch smaller in dia.
o and hey everybody, im back, its good to be home, i missed you guys.
