TB spacer...what material to use?
TB spacer...what material to use?
Ok, I must say that I would never recommend a Holley Projection manifold for anyone to use on their f-body cars!! After fooling with this thing for a week now I'm ready to take it off, send it back and get a carb intake. The EGR hits the IAC motor so Holley told me I needed a spacer so they proceeded to give me the wrong manufacturer of the part number and led me to believe it was a spacer for the EGR valve. So I call them up today and ask them again and the guy tells me it's not an EGR spacer but a TB spacer. I asked him about the fuel lines wanting to hit the intake and he said the spacer would fix that also....then why the heck did you design the manifold in the first place so that it would hit the fuel lines, even using aftermarket ones?? He stated it was made to be used on a early model carb truck that obviously wouldn't be using an EGR valve (even though the manifold is designed for one). CRAP, now I'm suppose to go buy a $40 spacer that has to be used and something they should have supplied with the manifold in the first place!! I've already bought a $40 EGR valve to replace my stock one and I've already cut my stock fuel lines.
Ok, now for the question! Since I'm not going to spend anymore money on this intake what material can be used to make a TB spacer? I'm going to have to bring it up just enough to allow the fuel lines to clear and so it won't hit my hood. I've heard of plastic being used but what kind so that it won't melt.
Thanks guys!
