is 12-14 degrees too much timing?

Engine: GMPP 350 HO w/TBI
Transmission: 700R-4
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt w/3.73s
is 12-14 degrees too much timing?

in order for my car to run right(i.e, not spit and sputter when i get into it) i have to set the timing at like 12-14 degrees. is this way too kigh, or what? i have a hypertech chip if that helps ata ll. the rest of my stuff is in the signature. thanks.

I've heard stories that Hypertech chips actually leave you with less timing than stock. With your mods you definitely need to get one custom burned to run right.

i still have the 2.73s untill this spring when i get the 3.73s. with my current geras i am at around 14.3 probly.

the only reason i havent gotten a chip yet is because so many people have said not to get one from a "mail order" type place...they say that in order to get one done and done right, that the place ahs to put the car on an engine analyzer and run all these tests. without having the car in their hands, it swont come out right. at least thats what i have been told.
