dont do it. if you want k&n get an open element. If you want factory, stay with paper.

they have different air boxes, ours is round, theres are flat. I think their airbox is already free-er flowing. maybe.

A K&N in a stock air cleaner isn't going to make that much of a difference if any. I know from experience. I do know that when I was repainting my stock air cleaner I totally forgot that I didn't have an air cleaner when I went to go buy paint for it. So yes I drove without an air cleaner...bad move but I did it by accident (thatn's what happenes when you have to wake after 4 hours of sleep for a crummy summer job). Anyways, the car just spun the tires and that was when I relized I didn't have an air cleanner. Lucky for me nothing happened so I was in the clear, still dumb move on my part. After that I got the dual air cleaner and I noticed that the LO3 had a much better sounding intake. It was deep and pulled at higher rpms, not kidding. I would have to say that is was good for at least 10hp in the upper rpm range. If I could tell the difference then there must be one. Anyways, I would go with an open air element just because I noticed a huge difference without the air cleaner and that is the closest to :-) good luck, also you can still get the K&N and put it in an open air cleaner as long as it's a 14x3.
