Vortech TBI?
Okay, the incredible slowness of my car is
really getting to me, 305 TBI auto- I see ads for used Vortech heads in the paper and figure they'd be a good deal.
1. What casting numbers do I look for (don't want 305 heads)
2. What mods need to be made to adapt to my engine?
3. Would I need a custom chip?
4. can I use 1.6 roller rocker?
thanks, I'll print responses and save them.

why wouldn't you want the 305 heads? they bolt right on. the 350 heads need to be milled to go on a 305 with stock pistons. the 305 Vortec was rated at 230 Hp. the 350 Vortec truck was rated at 250Hp.

dont get the 305 heads, theyre **** compared to the 350s. By the way they are vortec heads, lose the H as they are not a supercharger company
. Mill the 350 heads .045 and you will maintain compression. They are 418 dollars assembled from jim pace GMPP.

305 heads hmm....maybe. Gotta be better then
the crappy TBI heads I have.
Unfortunately i live in Canada, so $418 brand new heads from a dealer cost $950.
Used is typically $500...looks much more appealing. Sorry about the Vortech----Vortec
thing, I knew something looked funny!
