Open element suggestion
First of all I would like to thank everyone for their info on installing a non-drop air cleaner assembly, it was very helpful.
Today I finally got me an open element air cleaner assembly. I wanted a non-drop kind so I could get rid of that damn spacer ring. I went up to my local Ramchargers and found the the Edelbrock Elite series aircleaners are non drop. They match my valve covers and come with a K&N filter element, too. I got the triangular shaped one, it's perfect. It cleares everything, the coil doesn't hit it either and it looks bitchin. If you do use it, you'll have to shorten the hold down bolt and run a die down it to get a few extra threds, the new aircleaner is a bit shorter then the original and you'll need the extar threds to hold it down, that or just space it out with washers.
As for the IAT sensor, I just pulled the one from my old aircleaner assembly and put it under the MAP sensor.
I'll have pics soon for referance if anyone is intrested.
BTW, the price was around $70, but that's about how much the K&N brand assembly costs, and the Edelbrock one is build a little tougher and looks better IMO.

you mean the breather on the passenger side valve cover? I got a push in breather that matches the valve covers and air cleaner. As for the PCV valve on the driver's side, it's still in there and working. I reused the groments from the 327's old valve covers and put them in the Edelbrock Elite valve covers so I could reuse the PCV.

Oh yeah, if you want to add TBI spacers, I suggest this aircleaner. It sits lower and adds extra engine to hood clerance. I'll have the pics someday.
