Will Holley 670 fit on Performaer Intake?
will the Holley 670 (part# 502-6) bolt right on the Edelbrock Performer Intake(#3704)?
i am replacing the 305TBI out of a Formula with a 350, and was going to add the Edelbrock TBI Intake and Cam, and the Holley 670 TBI unit. Does anyone know if it will all bolt up? will i need a spacer? is this a good combo? The holey unit has a 2" bore, and i thought the stock was smaller than that. anyone running this combo. i know to get a custom chip made for the combo i end up going with.
thanks
Joe

That intake has 1.68" throttle bores, the 670cfm Holley TBI has 2.00" bores. The bolt holes are the same, so everything will still bolt up. You can bore the holes in the intake out to 2" and it'll work, or just get an intake for a 4bbl carb and use a TBI adaptor plate.

I have the rochester 454 on my 305, on the stock manifold, and ive just got a 1/4 spacer in there that has angled edges. If i were you id bore the intake though. I wasnt about to waste my time and bore out the stock intake.

just get a carb intake and an adapter. they work a lot better, and there are a ton of them out there to choose form. cheaper too.

either get a carb intake or get the Holley Projection intake.

Has anyone tried using a low-rise single-plane(such as a Torker) and adapter with TBI. I currently have a Holley TB with the conical adapter on a stock intake. Most of the multi-port injection systems are single plane set-ups, but I'm not sure if the TBI/Single plane setup would kill a lot of bottom end torque. Anybody?

I think Pablo is running that manifold and he claims he hasn't lost any bottom end but at the same time his motor isn't stock and he has a high lift cam with free flowing heads to match. A Torker II in my opinion would kill your low end torque on a stock or mildly modified motor...especially a 305.
Some are using Edlebrock's performer intake with good results and I am using Holley's Projection intake with no complaints. My problem is my heads, they won't allow the motor to pull past 5500 rpm. Anything would be better than the stock intake that is for sure especially if you have a Holley 670 unit on top.

i ran a back to back comparo on my torker
a holley 600 vac sec. carb
vs my tbi (the stock 400 cfm unit)
both on the torker II
the TBI blew the carburetor away at anything under 4000 rpm, the carb was soggy at best but it ripped past 4000 to 6k which essentially made it faster than my tbi at the time since it was way out of tune especially past 4000 rpm
times have changed, i havent been able to do a back to back comparo (i might soon though at the track) but im pretty sure i have it setup to where it kicks the holley at all points now (its running well) it basically needed tuning and a higher flowing tbi to match the rest of the motor
compared to stock the engine has more power all around

I am planning a cam change in the near future and porting the heads. This is a cruiser that shares daily driver duty w/ my truck. I'm not trying to build a race car (I already drag race an 82 Z28) but I'm trying to get better all-around performance on the street. The main reason I posted this was the fact that I have a Torker 2 just laying around, so I thought I might try it. Also, does anyone know I can find flow #'s on stock 305 heads. I have 3 sets of 305 heads (including the stock 89 TBI heads on the car) the others are #434 off a 76 truck, and #416 off my old Z28 305. The #434's have 1.72 intakes but the ports are bigger than the #416's. I haven't taken the heads on the car, so I don't know about the ones that are on it now. Does anyone know which of these would be the better heads to build, since I plan on putting 1.94 intakes in whichever set I use? Thanks In Advance

im running #416 heads on mine
i couldnt tell you which are better between the truck heads and the 416's but the tbi heads are horrible
and larger ports dont neccessarily mean better flowing of course then again they could flow more and if you are running 1.94s on both the valve size makes no difference
btw did you cc the intake ports? im curious to know what you came up with

if you have a Torker II laying around I would by all means try that...it's Free!
You will have a 32 code set due to no EGR valve provisions on the Torker II. I think Pablo disabled the EGR vavle when he burnt his chip. Not for sure aboutperformance but I've heard the EGR being blocked off can hurt performance and I've heard it doesn't. After reading a few tech articles it seems like it will hurt performance slightly but probably not enough to worry about. If unsure, plug it up now and drive your truck a few days and see how it acts.

It wont hurt performance as its only active at part throttle except for natural egr because of cam timing
it can hurt part throttle though if its active in the chip but not working mechanically because the chip adds extra timing for egr function something like 4 degrees depending on some things
