Open element and strut tower brace.

I know that there are braces for carb/tbi setups. But my question is,where does the brace run;in front of the cleaner or above it? Reason I'm asking is because I turned my Edelbrock drop base upside down so it would sit higher. With a 3" high element, the wing nut holding the cleaner lid down barely touches the underside of my ram-air scoop(SS style hood),which is about 2" high, which leaves no room for the brace if it runs above the cleaner. So I'm hoping that the brace is made to go in front of the cleaner like I'm thinking it should. Can anyone let me know for sure before I buy one?Thanx.

The Edelbrock is a 3 point brace. The cross bar goes in front of the air cleaner, and the 2 rear braces go behind / to the side of it. You'll have plenty of room.

thing is, your car isnt differnt or anything than the rest of ours, so if you just buy a strut tower brace made for a 3rd gen, it will fit, whether it looks like it or not. and you shouldnt have to move anything either.

91Bird305, I believe the brake fluid resevior is located on the driver's side. I think the box Neo is talking about is part of the AIR system.

could also be a heater hose valve. It is semi movable if thats what it is. front passenger side of valve cover??? But ya, dont worry bout wasting money, i would say its a good buy, cheap install for increased handling. And like i said, they are made specifically for our identical cars

Ah ur right Soul, Wrong side. It probably is the AIR system Neo is talking about. I don't know if the STB fits with the AIR systems or not. Mine are pulled. But I am pretty sure they do. If not, u can always remove that stuff.

It is the air system, I figured that out today the other one next to it is the heater control valve, and when you break it you get antifreeze spraing everywhere, go figure. To read about my problems see my post on the Tech/General Engine Board. It is bad but fixable.
