... with your TBI 350/ L05 motors? I see you guys have some budget performance threads stickied. Has anyone ever dyno'd their modded or unmodded L05's to see what kinda power their puttin down?
Im considering the possibility of an eventual performance rebuild for my L05 and want to know what kind of return I can get for the money spent.

I'm gonna chip in, but just so you know I've never put my car on a dyno, and I've never ran it at the track, so take what I say accordingly...
When you say performance rebuild I assume that you are talking about heads and cam (along with the usual bolt on stuff), because thats what it will take to make any SERIOUS power. If you go that route you will want to learn how to tune the PROM, because the stock PROM wont get you very far on a non-stock engine. There is nothing wrong with keeping the TBI, the stock specs for L03 and L05 engines gave TBI a bad name. With a performance engine build, upgraded TBI unit, and all the required "supporting" mods you can pretty much go as far as your wallet can take you (within reason of course).
If you do just bolt ons with a stock rebuild you can still have a bit of a runner if you tune the PROM. Wont have much up top but it will jump off the line nicely. However I would not recomend this if you are going to have it all apart anyway.

Well I want power within reason... anything 300hp or over would be nice. I would like to either re use the swirl ports or use another stock head, ported of course.

I got 262 RWHP and 365 RWTQ out of mine. Specs are in the sig. Chip tune is pretty good, but not spot on. Looking at one of those aftermarket systems and some more tuning.
