You got him by half a car in what period of time did you race for 2 seconds or a 0-100mph run or what. The guy wasn't even thinking of trying or threw it in 5th at 40mph or something cause those things should blow your TBI doors completely off. Maybe it was a v-6, which you should walk easily with your mods.
Whatever....

Dude, im not trying to bash you but if it was an LS1 they run 13's off of the showroom floor. Or even an LT1, low 14's.
There is no way that is even possible.
Not during a cold day in hell. I have a lot more mods, and i ran an LT1 T/A the other day and got walked. Im also in the low/mid 15's which is right for my mods.

Cool dude, bash other peoples mods.
Congrats on the kill like I said but I don't think that will happen again so I wouldn't suggest racing another LT1 or LS1.
Congrats on the kill like I said but I don't think that will happen again so I wouldn't suggest racing another LT1 or LS1. I test drove a 2001 WS-6 TA auto yesterday and G-teched it. The times were:
0-60: 5.33sec
1/4mi:13.45@107.23mph
Temp 29*F
SharpRS do you have any times for your car? I am just wondering how close they are, I'm not
doubting your kill. Good job!

I like Scott's chances.
Hey scott, why are u using the 1-5/8" headers with that 350 block? Wouldn't 1-3/4" be better?
Hey scott, why are u using the 1-5/8" headers with that 350 block? Wouldn't 1-3/4" be better? Two reasons: very little clearance with 1-3/4" headers, and the fact that I wanted more low end power with my setup. Yes, I know that SLP strongly recommends 1-3/4" with 350 engines, but I went with what I thought would work best for me.
I actually received a set of SLP 1-3/4" by mistake, waited for the 1-5/8" to show up and compared them both. The 1-3/4" were huge! I test fit them up against the engine and saw that I would have trouble changing spark plugs, tightening the bolts, rubbing against the steering shaft, etc..

Thanks, I was wondering what kind of headers I would use with the ZZ block. Did u have trouble clearing the pan with the y-pipe they sent u?

it could very well be tru that you beat a ws6, but it wasnt because of your mods or your car. or your driving skills. it was because his driving sucked. ive also raced a lt1 ws6 6speed bird. i killed him to 60. he spun at start for like 15 feet and set himself sideways from 1-2 shift. yes i won. one day later we met up on the interstate. not pretty. 60 mph. both floored it, i at first thought i had mistakenly hit the brake or something. because he took off and i didnt. he had like 4 carlengths on me in like 4 seconds.
moral. dont race another one, or youll get smoked, but congrats on you lucky day.

91bird305,
The y-pipe fit perfectly! I installed it by myself in about one hour with very little trouble if any. There is at least 1" clearance at every possible contact point.
BTW: where did my other post disappear to? The one where I thrashed the '89RS guy for his comment?

Thanks Nic! I'll watch my tone next time...
The SLP part numbers are:
30000 (1-5/8" with a.i.r. tubes)
30022 (installation kit)
30004 (1-5/8" without a.i.r. tubes)
30043 (installation kit)
30038 (3" slip fit single cat adapter)
I have the 30004 and 30038 for my setup. Installation kit is not really required and is expensive for what you get.

Dude, go to the track. Your car doesn't run 14.40. Your mods are similar to mine except for that I have an afpr, posi and tranny work. And I am praying to break to break out of 15's. I have never had my car timed but I don't plan on running low 14's. If you run ur car at the track and u DO run low 14's then someone before u has done heads, intake or cam work on ur engine. Cause our cars just don't run low-mid 14's with stock intakes+cam+heads....the most restrictive stuff on our blocks. Like I said and everyone else, I think that kid was just a horrible driver. I wouldn't recommend racing another LT1 or LS1. Well u could but just don't put the house mortage on it.
