Help me build a good emissions legal setup.

I have a 350 from an 85 blazer im gonna build up and put in my 91RS. Im gonna keep the TBI, and i need to be emissions legal. I want around 300-350 horsepower. Help me pick out some good heads, intake, cam, etc. that will be emissions legal and put out good power. Im asking on the TBI board, because i want to stick with TBI and because the motor swap board never gets any answers. I know how good some of you guys are with this so help me out.

if you have to rebuild it, don't get it. It doesn't have a roller cam. A bitchin legal torque monster engine would be: 4 bolt main 350 core, bore it .040 over, scat cast steel 383 crank $600, Trick flow 23* heads, edelbrock TBI intake = 385 TBI. Truckin' made a 383 TBI with edelbrock parts and made 450 TQ.

I shouldnt have to rebuild it. Its only got 50,000 miles on it, and a compression test yeiled 160 psi. I basically want to get the most bang for my buck. I have a guy who gets performance parts for really cheap, so im gonna go through him. I'm probably looking to spend between 1000-2000, getting the most i can for the money. Im trading my dad my old motorcycle 500 bucks and this engine. Its a complete engine, got it from a junkyard. A buddy of my grandfather owned the junkyard and said it was the best 350 on the lot.
I basically want to from 300-350 horespower to start off with, and it will be my daily driver. So does this help at all?

hmm. Trick Flow 23* heads = $850. Edelbrock TBI intake= $206. Comp cams kit with matching valve springs. By letting Comp cams match your valve springs you can get the Trick Flow heads with their cheaper valve springs and save $100. Where are you in CA? You can get a 4thgen rear with all the goodies for about $350 give or take. Disks, 3.42 gears, posi from my friend down in San Diego. I think you need at least 16" rims though to clear the big rear disks.

Im in the sf bay area, i have 17" rims, so that would work perfectly for me. Is he willing to ship? Thanks for the info on the other stuff...anyone else have any other info to offer up? Would I be better off going with aftermarket heads, or maybe getting some used ones and porting and polishing them?

email him at ISERCASTiK@aol.com

the 4thgen axle is a bit wider but lets say you had the stock wheels, it would bring them almost flush with the wheelwell. I think its 2" on each side.
