After market intake question

How many of you guys out there are using a four barrel intake with your stock TBI setup????? I am maybe interested in doing this.Do those TBI to Carb intake plates work well???..Maybe a Edelbrock Performer intake.....What brand are you using, and what are the pro's??? and the con's??? Is there a performance gain??? I love my TBI, but the intake does seem a little limited... from a cost stand point is this a good idea????...As always, Thanks for any replys, and opinions....Tom

Take a look at the stickies up top. In the "new to TBI sticky" there are a few links that go into great detail concerning carb intakes and adapter plates. Many do not prefer dual plane intakes because TBI does not need a vacuum signal like a carb set-up. Open plenum intakes provide excellent results. If you have a stock heads and cam motor I would not mess with the intake at this time. If you must fiddle with it (and we know we all do ) a little port work on the stock intake can yield nice results. Refer to some posts by Fast355, and Dewey316. Both have ample experience with carb intakes and ported stockers.

You did not get many replies because the intake is not as high of a "choke points" of the motor as is other parts (like exhaust, cam, throttle body).

IMO, the money spent on an intake could be better spent on on on something that is currently limiting you more than the intake.
