LT1 cam in TBI?
I am currently looking at some LT1 cams for sale and if I buy one I am wondering how easy of a swap is it. I have the 305 TBI. Will it just slide right in or will there have to be major mods done? Also, will i be starved for feul? I have heard that is a problem with TBI modifications. I have also heard that when a hotter cam is put in the flywheel needs replaced. Is this true or just myth? How much power will i notice. I already have aft-cat exhaust. I will eventually replace the intake and heads etc. But for now I am looking for a quick CHEAP fix for some summer fun

NJ Speedster had some springs that were only 48 bucks I think. You will need new springs probably, gaskets & timing chain.
Hey, aren't the LT1 cams made to run up to 6000rpm's anyways? So putting it in an engine that is made to rev to 4500-5000rpms would kinda be pointless wouldn't it? Or not?

twisting the lt1 cam to 6000 may be pushing it a bit. the stock lt1 made peak power at around 5400. so a 5600-5800 shift point should really rock.

I was considering the LT1 cam because I have heard it was a great mod for a TBI at a relatively cheap price. I thought "well what could be better than this, if it is so easy?" I know the LT1 motors rev a lot higher than 5000 but I have heard such good reports on the Lt1 cam in third-gens. I am strongly considering it and just wanted to hear some experienced opinions. Thanks for the replys guys, I appreciate it. i would love any further thoughts/ comments on this potential swap
