305 Vortec heads....
305 Vortec heads....
some guy just sent me an email with 305 vortec pics. They don't look like the 350 Vortec heads. They look more like cast iron L98 heads but with straight plugs. they have no exagerated heart shape. I wonder if they are worth anything now. maybe they are not an advanced heads like the 350 Vortec heads and were just adapted to match the L31s intake manifold.
Its stock HP was 230 stock TQ was 285. wonder if I should try to get them...

they did makea 305 Vortec. It was the L30 RPO code. These heads are not as good in terms of flow sa the L31's. The 305 Vortecs were actually different from the 350's. The Intake and exhaust ports were different the cmobustion chamber was differerent. Typically thirdenners don't want the 305 (L30) vortecs because they are inferior in all ways. Get the casting numbers off of it. and post them I'm sure wecan figure out what they are.

I know they are L30 heads I was just commenting that they look more like 305 TPI heads than L31 heads. They probably just modified the 305 TPI head casting to work with the Vortec type intake.

"glass" hood.
Man!, im just doing the **HOT new** stuff.
i guess im going to be the poster child for thirdgen TBI'ers soon =)

the 305 vortecs do have different ports and stuff. I talked to my parts guy at the dealership last night when checking injectors #'s. hes got a set of vortecs there for 209 a peice. and some at home used too. both 350's. i looked at the new ones weve got at the dealership, damn, i wish......
hehe, well. i think im gona call him and see what he wants for the used ones, no reason to give my parents cash if i can buy from him.
